The following is a more detailed description of the rewards available to donors of the #VisitingVisitation project (thank you!) on Indiegogo. The Parish wishes to thank the following prize sponsors who have generously supported our fundraising through the provision of free or discounted products and services.


The campaign is active from September 6 2018 for 60 days and you can pledge here!

Name in Archive

All contributors of 10$/€ or more to our fundraising campaigns – both long term on our website and on Indiegogo – will be listed in the Book of Donors, a book that will be stored in the archive of the diocese of Pistoia, which houses hundreds of years of ecclesiastical documents. This is our sincere thanks to you.

Pietranera IGT Toscana

Piaggia winery in Carmignano has generously offered 2-packs of their Pietranera IGT Toscana red wine for donors. The Sangiovese blend is an excellent daily-use wine, an accompaniment to delicious Tuscan meals, cheeses, meats etc. With natural yeasts and careful vinification, this wine represents the terroir of Piaggia, located near the Medici villa Poggio a Caiano, in the Carmignano DOCG producing territory.

Important note: unfortunately it is possible to ship ONLY IN ITALY AND EUROPEAN UNION (due to import laws). Shipping costs are $20 ITA and $40 EU.

Piaggia winery in Carmignano has generously offered private winery tours upon booking with the owner, Sylvia. Come alone, as a couple or with friends at the arranged time and Sylvia will show you the fields, cellars and other areas of this important Carmignano winery! Taste a few wines, and come away with a bottle of Pietranera IGT Toscana red wine. (We’re sure you’re going to want to buy more while you’re there – they make a brilliant riserva!)

We have commissioned these beautiful shawls made by a local producer of scarves and blankets, Lanificio Bisentino, whose factory in Comeano is very close to Carmignano. The four colours available are inspired by those found in Pontormo’s painting. They are different models of accessories, with different compositions, weights and sizes for each colour – ideal for different seasons, skin tones and genders! Shipping is included worldwide. A4 print by Valentino Grassi

Prato-based artist Valentino Grassi has created a beautiful acrylic painting inspired by Pontormo’s Visitation, and is offering 20 signed and numbered limited edition prints of the work. Titled “Tutto Torna”, Grassi says that the colours of the painting, interpreted here, stand out due to their modernity. Prints will be A4 on high quality paper and sent with a description of the work and artist’s bio.

Private Curator Tour / New York

Recognizing the importance of the international exhibition “Miraculous Encounters” to this fundraising, both curators Dr. Bruce Edelstein and Dr. Davide Gasparotto have offered to conduct a 1- hour private curator tour when they are present in New York. You will enter the Morgan Library and Museum with the curator, who will give you a fascinating and in-depth look at the research that they carried out for this important show. The curators are available in New York ONLY on the following dates: September 7 and 8, 2018; October 21 to November 1 2018 – note that the museum is closed on Mondays.

Private Curator Tour / Los Angeles

Recognizing the importance of the international exhibition “Miraculous Encounters” to this fundraising, curators Dr. Davide Gasparotto have offered to conduct a 1- hour private curator tour at his home museum in Los Angeles. You will enter the J. Paul Getty Museum with the curator, who will give you a fascinating and in-depth look at the research that they carried out for this important show. Dates to be coordinated with the curator when he is available; of course, the tour can only be conducted when the show is on, from February 5 to April 28 2019.

Weekend in Carmignano at Hotel Villa San Michele***

Enjoy a weekend exploring Carmignano and surroundings with the charming Hotel Villa San Michele*** as your home base. This three star hotel is at the center of town and boasts beautiful views of the Tuscan hills. The package includes a double room, breakfast and wifi. Meet up with a local for 2 hours who can give you plenty of tips and answer curiosities. And we’ll get you 2 tickets to your choice of either the archaeological site or the fortress above town (open only weekends). Stay valid through May 2020.
